Special COVID-19 Webinar Recording: Ready, Set, Go: Planning Ahead to Administer the COVID-19 Vaccine to HBPC Patients - February 2021
Description
Many home-based primary care (HBPC) programs are still waiting to receive supplies of COVID-19 vaccine to administer to their homebound patients, and the situation is understandably frustrating. With vaccine roll-out plans and protocols varying by state and by institution, it's no surprise that available guidance is very limited in just how to acquire the needed vaccine supply. There is, however, still much to be learned from HBPC programs that have been able to start administering the COVID-19 vaccine to their patients and even to household caregivers. In this webinar, these programs will highlight their lessons learned and describe the logistics and planning you can (and should) be putting into place now to ensure your practice is 'ready to go' once you receive vaccines for your patients. We will also describe other creative solutions, e.g. partnering with local agencies (e.g., EMS, county health departments, pharmacies) to administer vaccines to homebound patients.
