Optimizing Efficiency in House Call Operations Online Course
Description
Clinicians, practice managers, and other staff interested in enhancing the productivity, and ultimately the bottom line, of their house call program need proven strategies to streamline operations while ensuring high-quality patient care is at the center of all activity. Opportunities to improve efficiency can be found in workflows associated with intake, triage, pre-visit activities, durable medical equipment, scheduling and route planning, acute/urgent visits, EMR usage, supply inventory and ordering, and community partnerships.


Objectives
This course will focus on ensuring the program’s mission is achieved through the efficient and effective management of operations while maintaining a sustainable profit margin. Upon completion, you will be able to do the following:
1. Explain how to use Root Cause Analysis to identify practice inefficiencies.
2. Apply the recommended strategies to improve efficiency and productivity through staffing and process workflows.
Estimated Time to Complete
30 minutes. In order to earn credit for participation in this activity, the learner must complete a 5-question post-test with a passing score of 80% or better with unlimited attempts.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for home-based primary care providers, as well as practice administrators, managers, and other staff who are invested in enhancing house call operations.
