Telehealth in Home-Based Primary Care Online Course
Description
Telehealth is the integration of telecommunications into the practice of providing and promoting health and is a viable option is a viable option during COVID-19 pandemic, and also in a time of rising healthcare costs and an aging population with chronic diseases. Even so, many home-based primary care practices have not yet implemented telehealth due to barriers such as a lack of provider experience using the technology or questions about coding and billing for these services.
Objectives
In this course, you will learn about possible models for practicing telehealth and considerations for successful implementation. Upon completion, you will be able to do the following:
  1. Explain the benefits of telehealth and considerations for implementation.
  2. Discuss virtual visits and remote patient monitoring, including their technology architecture and reimbursement requirements.
Estimated Time to Complete
30 minutes
In order to earn credit for participation in this activity, the learner must complete a 5-question post-test with a passing score of 80% or better with unlimited attempts.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for home-based primary care providers, as well as practice administrators, managers, and operations staff who are seeking a better understanding of the benefits and considerations for implementing telehealth into their practice.
